Featured Journeys: California Wine Country

Siem Reap is a luxury destination in western Cambodia, known for five-star hotels and resorts, boutiques, spas, and galleries. Today, visitors to this region can explore a stone skeleton of a city amidst a lush jungle. The Angkor Wat temple complex covers about 60 square miles of land, with moats, temples, palaces, and passageways. Guests to the site may want to consider visiting with a guide for a greater understanding of the Khmer history, architecture, as well as the significance of the site to Buddhism and Hinduism. Angkor Thom was founded in the 12th century by Jayavarman VII, and remained the capital of Khmer cities until the 17th century. Effortlessly cool, the city is known for the turrets of Sagrada Familia, La Boqueria Market's Iberian ham, olives, and goat cheese, El Born's clubs where partiers dance 'til dawn, and hidden courtyards. 

La Sagrada Familia cathedral is one of the city's top destinations. Gaudi's masterpiece is full of symbolism. Started in 1882, the church has iconic turrets, stone carvings, and grand facades. For beaches and no-frills fish restaurants, Barcelonta is the place to go. Barri Gotic serves up Catalan fare including Los Caracoles (the snails), salted cod salad known as esqueixada, and pan tomaquet (tomato bread). For Michelin-starred restaurants that put the city on the gastro map, Eixample and El Born offers a variety of gastronomic experiences. In the evening, head to the jazz clubs and tapas bars of Placa Real.

Destination Spotlight: Santorini

While the Museum of Pre-Historic Thira in Fira has frescoes and pottery on display from the Minoan town of Akrotiri that was destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1650 B.C. 

Time to relax? Santorini's perpendicular coastline offers a beach for every style. The family-friendly Monolithos is backed by rock formations, those looking for windsurfing and jet skiing can head to Perivolos or Perissa, and couples seeking seclusion can hop on a donkey for a trek to one of Oia's initimate beaches along only-in-Santorini blue waters.
