Also referred to as the Côte d’Azur, the French Riviera stretches along 125 miles of Mediterranean coastline in the south of France. Set within Provence, the region has been a destination for artists and jetsetters for decades. From high-end luxury hotels to a chic cafe culture and serene blue waters, the French Riviera is the destination for jetsetters and those seeking to soak up the sun. Offering more than 300 days of sunshine per year, the Côte d’Azur is a year-round destination, though July and August are the busiest months.

Visitors may want to consider renting a car to explore the ribbonlike roads that line the shoreline to explore the resorts of Cap-Martin, Beaulieu, Cap-Ferrat, and Monaco. The Grand Corniche roadway was built in 1806 by Napolean and today the 20-mile roadway offers some of the region's most panoramic views.

Another way to explore the area is via boat, an ideal for travelers to enjoy the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea and the picturesque coastline at once.

Beau Rivage Hotel Et Plage, built in 1860, is located in the heart of the old city, a few steps away from the famous Promenade des Anglais and within walking distance from the Acropolis Convention Centre. Artists and intellectuals of that time such as Matisse, Fitzgerald, Nietzsche or Theckhov were fond of this hotel and were regular clients. It features a private beach with a restaurant.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the French architect Jean-Michel WIlmotte completed a full scale renovation of the Hotel Beau Rivage. Throughout the hotel, pebble motifs evoke the beaches of Nice. You will find them in the sofas with their Livingstone pebble cushions designed by Stéphanie Marin, the lamps by Céline Wright and the tables which were tailor-made for this boutique hotel by the artist Bernard Reyboz.
