Cooking Classes for Kids: Summer Culinary Adventures at Four Seasons Westlake Village

June 28, 2010| By:Mary Winston Nicklin

Four Seasons Hotel Westlake VillageStart 'em young. Kids can learn to make healthy eating a lifelong habit with hands-on cooking classes at the California Health & Longevity Institute, adjacent to the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village just north of Los Angeles. This innovative spa resort is quite popular for programs that revolutionize healthy living and well-being. Designed for budding chefs ages 10 to 16, the Kids Culinary Adventures in the Wellness Kitchen are offered throughout the summer and cost $65 per class, or $50 for multiple class bookings or multi-child bookings. On Wednesday, June 30, the theme is "Going Green," emphasizing the importance of local and sustainable food as a great way to "go green," protect the environment, and stay healthy. With "Breakfast Blast" on Tuesday, July 13, kids will learn why it's important to never skip the most important meal of the day (they'll learn fun, quick, and healthy options to give them the fuel they need for a productive day). Other classes include "Asian Fusion," "Healthy Mexican," and "Sweets that Count."
