Eye on the Oscars: Check out the Scenes at Rooftop Hotel Pools in Los Angeles

Hollywood's Academy Awards are fast approaching (March 7), and the New York Daily News has some ideas about where to get a glimpse of those A-lister stars as they pre-party the night away. Why, L.A.'s famous pool scenes are the place to see and be seen. From the private bar and pool lounge atop the Thompson Beverly Hills ("a magnet for fans of its sister hotels, the posh 60 Thompson in SoHo and the celebrity hangout Roosevelt in Hollywood") to the elegant Peninsula Beverly Hills (which just hosted the 2010 Grammys), Hollywood's hotel pools promise serious star-gazing. Other recommendations: The Montage, an urban resort with a rooftop pool boasting panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills; the Beverly Wilshire; and the Philippe Starck-designed SLS Hotel, sporting the "hottest pool scene in Beverly Hills... cabanas and chaise lounges so oversize that you're left with the feeling that you're forever young, or at least a child in a Magritte landscape."
