What’s On: Signatory Single Malt Tasting at Washington’s Willard InterContinental

February 12, 2009| By:Mary Winston Nicklin

Willard InterContinental HotelWashingtonians, Scotch lovers, don't miss this event. Head over to The Willard's Round Robin Bar, where Henry Clay introduced the Mint Julep to Washington, for the Signatory Scotch Tasting that "might just blow your mind," says The Washington Post's GOG blog:

For $20, you get tastes of nine rare and little-known whiskeys, including a cask-strength Bunnahabhain whiskey from Islay thats been aged for 27 years, the 16-year-old Royal Lochnagar from the Highlands and a 10-year one from Jura that's "unchill-filtered," which preserves tastes that are usually filtered away when it's bottled. Hors d'oeuvres are included. The party starts at 6 (Thursday, Feb 12), and the tasting begins at 6:30. Advance tickets are available from the Wine Specialist.
