Karl Lagerfeld and Tommy Hilfiger Have Designs on Hotels

Legendary Fashion Designers Karl Lagerfeld and Tommy Hilfiger have joined colleagues Armani, Versace, and Missoni (among others) in the hotel business. Lagerfield has  just inked a deal to design a 270-room signature hotel in Macau. Lagerfield will be going for a 19th Century design aesthetic with a modern twist. Karl Lagerfeld isn't brand-new to the hotel-design business. He recently spruced up Hotel Metropole Monte Carlo's new pool. China is currently is quite popular with designers and designers. Bulgar is opening a new hotel in Shanghai in 2015, and Versace plans to open Palazzo Versace Macau, in 2017.

American sportswear designer Tommy Hilfiger isn't just designing The Raleigh, he has purchased it. The art deco hotel is a South Beach icon, and Hilfiger has plans to add a destination spa, fine dining outlets, and possibly a private club to the hotel. The hotel will most likely undergo interior redecoration to reflect the Hilfiger style.

Other fashionable luxury hotel spots include the Oscar de la Renta-decorated villas at Tortuga Bay, a Dior suite at The St Regis New York, a Diane Von Fursternberg suite at Claridge's, and Ralph Lauren's Round Hill Hotel and Villa's accommodations.
