Cocktails at Shangri-La VancouverThe games are on in Vancouver. If you're in town for the 2010 Winter Olympics, head over to the Shangri-La Hotel-- situated at 1128 West Georgia in Vancouver's downtown core-- for some special celebratory treats. Three-star Michelin chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is in house from February 15 -17, joining his team at MARKET by Jean-Georges, to open a special "Street MARKET" in heated tents outside the hotel. Grab some tasty (and affordable) bar fare from 11:30 a.m.- 1:00 a.m. Also on the menu at the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver: Five Olympics-inspired cocktails created by the mixologists at the Lobby Lounge. These flavorful concoctions pay homage to the Olympic rings; here's a sampling: Oh Canada! (red ring) featuring Canadian Maple Whiskey, rum and maple syrup; Gold on Ice (gold ring) – a blend of Canadian Calvados and True Canadian Cider poured over ice cubes made of iceberg distilled water garnished with caramelized apple and gold flakes. The Lobby Lounge is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. during the Olympics.
