The Ultimate Private Cooking Class in New York: Jean Georges Restaurant, Trump International Hotel and Tower

November 11, 2008| By:Mary Winston Nicklin

Jean Georges at Trump International

Sign up for the Jean-Georges Culinary Master Course at Trump International Hotel and Tower and you'll learn to slice and dice with one of only three Michelin-starred chefs in New York City, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, whose name adorns the hotel's signature restaurant. (His other restos include Vong, Mercer Kitchen, Spice Market and Perry Street.) Awarded the New York Times top rating, Jean-Georges restaurant boasts a menu as stunning as the views through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Price tag for the cooking class package? $9,000. The private master course was designed after repeated requests from enamored guests. Town and Country Travel recently went behind the scenes to get the scoop:

The Jean Georges Master Class, designed for two to four people, takes participants behind the culinary curtain to learn the techniques and secrets of Vongerichten's vibrant cuisine, which favors the intense flavors and textures created from vegetable juices and fruit essences over the traditional use of meat stocks.

The package also includes a three-night stay in an Executive Park View Suite, three course dinner for two at Jean-Georges, breakfast for two daily at Nougatine, and a signed copy of the chef's new book,  Asian Flavors of Jean-Georges.
