Tallest Residential Building in Manhattan Will House a Park Hyatt Hotel

New Manhattan Skyscraper by Christian de PortzamparcA new tower will soon emerge on the Manhattan skyline, the "first major construction start in New York since the fall of Lehman Brothers in September 2008"-- to quote The New York Times. Designed by French architect Christian de Portzamparc, the skyscraper will house luxury apartments with killer views of Central Park from its location on 57th Street east of Seventh Avenue. On the first 20 floors, a Park Hyatt Hotel will offer 210 guest rooms. Developer Gary Barnett aims to overtake Trump World Tower as "the tallest residential building in the city" with this $1.3 billion building. Estimated completion date: 2013.
