New in Manhattan: Afternoon Tea at The Mark’s Jean-Georges Restaurant

October 25, 2010| By:Mary Winston Nicklin

The Mark Hotel, New YorkThere's a delicious new offering at The Mark Hotel that's enticing visitors and Manhattanites alike. Re-opened in the summer of 2009, The Mark Hotel has been turning heads in New York for its stunning design and lavish amenities. The on-site restaurant, opened by Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, is a real palate-pleaser (while the eatery's decor provides some real eye candy). What's new at this hot spot? An Afternoon Tea service that's served from 3 until 5 p.m. daily. Choose from a selection of loose teas and sparkling wines by the glass, while noshing on decadent bite-size treats. "Full Tea" is available, along with a menu of a la carte delights: English cucumber and cress on white bread, smoked salmon with dill on pumpernickle bread, Flying Pigs Farm ham on white bread, and a jalapeno cheddar scone. Of course you'll also find traditional scones with jam and clotted cream in true English tradition.
