Nature on a Silver Platter at Clayoquot Wilderness Retreat (where Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds Tied the Knot)

Back in 2005, we highlighted the luxury camping facilities at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort situated on Canada's Vancouver Island in the heart of the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve in British Columbia. Here you get pampered while roughing it—the white canvas tents have Adirondack-style beds covered in down duvets, antique dressers, pressed-glass oil lamps, and remote-controlled propane fireplaces. But that's not all. The resort also has "a comprehensive recycling program, organic gardens, gravity-fed turbines that generate fuel-less electricity and hotel water, and a waste composting system," to quote the New York Times. The NYT recently hailed Clayoquot as "the ultimate glamping experience." Seems we're not the only ones smitten with this wilderness outpost.
