Hotel Monteleone Fetes 125th Anniversary with Celebratory Events

It's been 125 years since the landmark Hotel Monteleone first began welcoming guests to the French Quarter in New Orleans. (Within walking distance to the city's most famous attractions, the Hotel Monteleone is a long-time AAA Four Diamond award winner.) To celebrate this big birthday, the hotel is going all out with a year-long calendar of events, which kicked off this month with the launch of the hotel's own history book, "Hotel Monteleone: More Than a Landmark, The Heart of New Orleans Since 1886." At the same time, The Monteleone started a bi-monthly Literary Legacy Series, a panel focusing on local legends moderated by Ringside Politics host Jeff Crouere.

Next up: Mardi Gras! Just off Bourbon Street, the Hotel Monteleone is in the middle of everything purple, green and gold. The party continues with St. Patrick's Day celebrations, when green cocktails and Irish Coffee will be on tap at the Carousel Bar, followed by the Tennessee Williams Festival and Louisiana Derby Day. And that's just through March! The Hotel Monteleone has a full agenda of fun, no matter what month you visit New Orleans.
