Buzz in New York: Andaz Fifth Avenue is Opening in August

Need we say more? Another Andaz Hotel is coming to town and it's making us giddy. Hyatt's trendy Andaz brand of boutique hotels has been making waves since the launch of the first property in London, Andaz Liverpool Street, in 2007. Now Manhattan is getting another one with the opening of the Andaz Fifth Avenue on August 1, 2010. Andaz gets rave reviews for its genuinely hospitable service; guests are greeted in the reception area by personal hosts who carry tablet PCs (forget the lobby and check-in counter!) Andaz Hotels are also adored for their abundant freebies, like complimentary Internet access and mini-bar drinks and snacks. The Fifth Avenue property is billed as "a uniquely New York hotel" with Gotham-inspired interiors by Tony Chi: "The ground and second floors are now open; a façade of floor-to-ceiling glass framed in limestone echoes the library across the street." What else to love? Restaurant and bar menus that showcase fine seasonal produce from local farmers in the Hudson Valley.
