Aloft Comes to Washington

February 10, 2009| By:Dave Eisen

Aloft Comes to Washington

Let's hope Aloft has an easier time than Jimmy Stewart did when it comes to Washington. Starwood's shrunk-down W brand will debut on the National Harbour this April, with 190 loft-like rooms and trendy technological design. And what new hotel doesn't have a hot new restaurant? Aloft will feature an outpost of the LA-eatery, Ketchup, which, while we can't attest to the food, did appear on an episode of The Hills. If it's good enough for LC, it's good enough for us! The hotel wil be the centerpiece of a mixed-use community overlooking the National Harbour. Because Aloft is being constructed in secondary markets, note that the actual property will be situated in Prince George's County, which is about 10 minutes outside D.C. Right outside though is a public marina with water taxis available to shuttle guests into the city. [Map]
