Beau Rivage Hotel Et Plage, built in 1860, was one of the first Nicois hotels located in continuation of the famous Promenade des Anglais on the sea shore. Artists and intellectuals of that time such as Henri Matisse, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Friedrich Nietzsche were frequent guests of the luxury hotel.
