Set in the heart of Manhattan along 44th Street, The Chatwal New York is an iconic luxury hotel designed by Standford White with 1930s Empire Art Deco architecture. Recently reimagined by Thierry Despont, the hotel's guestrooms and suites are furnished in rich hues of ruby, saffron, and sepia. Complimented with custom amenities, handmade Shifman mattresses, and Frette linens, accomodations have state-of-the-art technology, including iPod docking stations and Blu-ray/DVD players (upon request). For an exclusive retreat within the hotel, the Producer One Bedroom Suite with Rooftop Terrace evokes the glamour of the Art Deco period while incorporating state-of-the-art technology and modern style. The 700-square-foot suite has a spacious living room with a fireplace, flat-screen TV, chic sitting area, and access to the outdoor terrace. Adjacent to the living room is a dining room with modern furnishings, minibar, and additional flat-screen TV. Guests of the suite designed by Thierry Despont receive butler service, and there's also a two king beds, and a safe within the suite. In addition, guests booking "5 Star Signature Rates" for suites at The Chatwal receive exclusive amenities including continental breakfast for two, and Mercedes drop off service within a 20-block radius. Built in 1905, the 90-seat restaurant features Empire Deco design in a venue that was the home of The Lambs, the first professional theater club in America with a membership list that included Charlie Chaplin, Spencer Tracy, and Fred Astair.
