Know for pink beaches and clear blue water, if you are staying in Bermuda - a beach better be available to you. The best ranked beaches are on the Southern Shore since they are less crowded with sunbathers but still perfect for tanning. The beaches on the North side of Bermuda aren't as broad as those on the south side - but no Bermuda beach is bad.
Different beach areas include the small Church Bay in Southampton Parish; former US military base Clearwater Beach in St. David's with lifegaurds in season and public facilities; the largest and most popular swimming beach is Elbow Beach in Paget Parish; very popular Horseshoe Bay in Southampton Parish has a lifegaurd in the summer; John Smith's Bay Beach is a great one for swimming and snorkeling, has a lifeguard in season and is in Smith's Parish; and lastly, Snorkel Beach has great swimming and snorkeling in its' protected waters in Sandys Parish.
