Excellent

Excellent accommodation. Great rooms and fantastic service. Beautiful beach. Awesome vibe.

Set in the verdant hills above the Caribbean coast of southern Belize, Copal Tree Lodge, formerly Belcampo, is a sanctuary from the everyday world. The definition of agritourism-chic: a Jungle Lodge, organic farm, and a 12,000-acre nature reserve, Copal Tree Lodge offers the best in local food and culture, active adventures, wildlife viewing, saltwater fly-fishing, and world-class hospitality.

At the heart of the resort is the Main Lodge with The Jungle Farm Restaurant, The Rum Bar, the Jungle Spa, lounge areas, a swimming pool, and observation decks that open to stunning vistas of the coast, the Maya Mountains and a seemingly endless pristine rain forest. The 16 individual, spacious suites are well appointed with plush beds, screened fresh-air verandas, and spa-style bathrooms with floor to ceiling tropical rain forest views.

Walk down 365 steps or take the private tram to the riverside dock where kayaks and canoes are available for use, or work out in the air-conditioned gym. From the dock you can embark on tranquil cruises on the jungle reaches of the Rio Grande, or guided snorkeling and fishing adventures on the Caribbean Sea.

Banquets & Meetings
Fine Dining On Site
Delicious, authentic food is at the core of the Belcampo Belize experience. The hotel offers a real experience of Belize flavors to guests, based almost exclusively on ingredients from its farm.
Fitness Center
The air conditioned Jungle Gym is located near the river dock where guests will find free weights, a treadmill, and a stationary bike as well as yoga mats, straps, exercise balls, and resistance tubing.
Child Programs
The Lodge provides a number of activities that are fun, safe, and educational for children 10 years old and over.
Spa Facility
The Copal Tree Lodge Spa is a serene sanctuary overlooking the rain forest canopy. Using only locally sourced ingredients and botanicals, each treatment is designed for relaxation and renewal.
Beach
Belcampo Belize is only a 10 minute drive from the seaside town of Punta Gorda.
Biking, Mountain
Gary Fisher bikes provide superb maneuverability through the narrow streets of Punta Gorda town. Biking through town offers a unique perspective of the sights and sounds of the area while offering a fun fitness tour. Ask the front desk clerk or a guide for a bike key. Helmets are provided.
Boating
Belcampo Belize's 12,000-acre nature reserve is bordered by the winding Rio Grande river. Its gentle current allows for easy paddling up or downstream.
Fishing Fly
The hotel stocks Orvis rods, flies and lines for tarpon, bonefish and permit in 8 weight and 10 weight for both right and left handed anglers.
Hiking
Belcampo Belize has several moderate hiking trails to points of interest throughout the property. Trails include the Chocolate Trail through the cacao plantation and Sugar Cane Run, which extends around the sugar cane fields outside of the gates. Hiking with a guide at least once is highly recommended as they are overflowing with information on the flora and fauna and are experts at spotting wildlife.
