Peninsula Shanghai Celebrates Aviation

The Peninsula Shanghai opened in 2009 and is The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels flagship hotel in Mainland China. Occupying a prime location with direct frontage on Shanghai's historic Bund, The Peninsula is the first new building on the Bund in the last few decades. The Peninsula Shanghai is also one of many Peninsula hotels that feature aviation history-themed lounges.  

The Rosamonde Aviation Lounge at The Peninsula Shanghai celebrates the fascinating history of aviation in China, and it has an impressive collection of antiques and memorabilia. It is named after Xianyi Rosamonde, the first aircraft designed and built in China. It is also referred to as the Dashatou Rosamonde, after the location where it was built, or as Aircraft 1. for On display at the entrance to the lounge is a life-size replica of a 1928 Leoning, Asia's first sea plane. Perched on the 14th floor of the hotel, the glass-encased Rosamonde Aviation Lounge boasts spectacular views of the glittering city skyline through floor-to-ceiling windows. The lounge sets a truly unique scene for any occasion.
