Just in Time for Christmas: Hotel Montalembert, Paris Gets a Makeover

December 20, 2010| By:Mary Winston Nicklin

Hotel Montalembert, ParisThis charming Left Bank hotel-- housed in a Beaux-Arts building in the heart of Saint Germain des Près-- has reopened after a months-long renovation. A member of the Majestic Hotel Group and Preferred Boutique Hotels, the Hotel Montalembert "has a long-standing and well-deserved reputation for discreet luxury"-- to quote Business Traveller (Asia-Pacific edition). The hotel first opened its doors in 1926 and still exudes an Art Deco elegance. Though rooms are small (in typical Parisian fashion), they're loaded with thoughtful amenities. The new makeover has unveiled new suites by Christian Liaigre-- featuring Bang & Olufsen Video Hifi systems, Nespresso machines, iPod docking stations, and a special "VIP" welcome for kids-- plus remodeled public areas. Book the "Rive Gauche Pack" offer and you'll get accommodations, continental breakfast daily, and a museum pass for a two days free admission to all national museums with direct access and no waiting lines. Three night minimum required.
