Exclusive Perks at The Royal Hawaiian
VIP Status, $100 Credit, Breakfast, and More at "The Pink Palace" in Waikiki
On February 1, 1927, The Royal Hawaiian opened as the first luxury property in Waikiki, ushering in a new era of resort travel to the Hawaiian Islands. Set on 14 acres of the fabled Waikiki beachfront on Oahu's south shore, the resort quickly gained a reputation as a favorite vacation spot for international royalty. During World War II, The Royal Hawaiian was leased exclusively to the U.S. Navy, but re-opened in 1947 after a large-scale renovation. The Royal Hawaiian quickly regained its standing as an exclusive retreat for Hollywood's brightest stars, heads of state, and the well-heeled travelers. The Royal Hawaiian has since renovated and rebranded as A Luxury Collection property, taking "The Pink Palace" a step beyond traditional luxury resort expectations. In 1969 the beautiful high-rise beachfront building was added, creating a hotel within a hotel concept. The new addition is known today as Mailani Tower, featuring all oceanfront rooms with lanais. Separated from the Historic Building by a regal promenade, Mailani Tower also features an exclusive guest lounge with concierge service, continental breakfast with mimosas and evening appetizers with beer/wine daily, reading materials, and other features.
