Arriving at The Boat Hotel for the first time can be be compared to returning as house guests of a close friend, where needs are anticipated before arrival and the welcome is genuine. Where else can you wear your Hunter wellies at 8am, golf spikes at 3pm and dress up or down for dinner? But while we offer our guests comfort some luxury and indulgence, this is not a stuffy hotel where you can’t sit on the furniture or let your kids enjoy themselves. Nestled in a tranquil picturesque setting deep within the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, near Aviemore, lies the historic and unique award wining Boat Hotel & Bistro. Adjacent to the renowned Boat of Garten Golf Club we boast 2 AA Rosette food and stylish yet relaxing accommodations with exhilarating views.

Directions to Hotel
Boat of Garten is easily accessible from the main A9 road, with nearby connections for bus, rail and air travel. The village lies six miles north east of Aviemore, between the B970 and the A95.

Travelling by car from the South (Edinburgh, Perth) on the A9, turn right off the A9 at the Grantown on Spey / Carrbridge junction (North of Aviemore). Follow the signs for Boat of Garten / Strathspey Steam Railway.

Travelling by car from the North (inverness) on the A9, turn left off the A9 at the Carrbridge / Grantown on Spey junction. At Carrbridge follow signs for Strathspey Steam Railway (B9153).
Note Bene
A trip to the highlands is hardly complete without getting on the whisky trail and sampling some fine Scotch whisky. When staying in Aviemore why not take a trip to nearby Speyside Distillery Company in Kingusssie or the Tomatin Distillery, located in the Monadhliath Mountains just south of Inverness. Connoisseurs can enjoy guided tours and of course a wee dram (or two!).
