Welcome to The Old Government House Hotel and Spa, the most historically famous hotel in the Channel Islands, dating back to 1858 and formerly the official residence of The Governor (the Queen's representative to the Bailiwick of Guernsey) and now a member of the award-winning Red Carnation Hotel Collection.
The OGH (as it is affectionately known) retains many of the features from that bygone era and has been sympathetically and lovingly restored to encompass those modern facilities that you would expect in a luxury hotel. The OGH is also unique in retaining a timeless charm and elegance - an oasis of calm from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Facilities range from a luxurious Spa, Health Club, Brasserie and Olive Grove (with views over the garden and harbour) and intimate Governor's restaurant (arguably the most romantic restaurant on the Island). The cuisine, under the direction of French Chef, Jerome Barbancon, is now regarded as the finest on the Island whilst the hotel has once again been awarded a coveted VisitBritain Gold Award for service and hospitality and two AA rosettes for food.
Since joining the Red Carnation Hotel Collection we have embarked on an extensive refurbishment programme that includes the Regency Room, Brasserie, Spa, public rooms, gardens and pool deck plus a number of bedrooms and suites - all equipped with air-conditioning, flat-screen televisions, bespoke linen and high-speed wireless Internet access.
