The Peninsula Hong Kong has rolled out a handful of experiential academy programs that fulfill the different types of experiences travelers may be searching for when visiting Hong Kong.“Traditions Well Served” are one of the several programs the Peninsula Hong Kong has on offer to their hotel guests. This particular course seeks to teach foreigners about the disappearing art of Hong Kong craftsmanship that was seem predominately during Hong Kong’s golden era of manufacturing through education and building awareness. Hotel guests and program attendees are able to meet current practitioners of these almost forgotten trades, and listen to their stories of their creative processes, in addition to being able to get a first-hand view of each craft, and finally being able to participate in making them as well. These trades include bamboo and flower display making, paper tearing artists, shadow puppet masters, lion dancers, even a lesson in how to make traditional female dress buttons.
