Tokyo Nightlife: Bubbles at Peter, The Bar at The Peninsula Hotel

June 24, 2010| By:Mary Winston Nicklin

The Peninsula Hotel TokyoSince opening in 2008, The Peninsula Hotel has been a smash hit on the Tokyo scene. It's not just the cutting-edge in-room technology and snazzy bathrooms that have guests raving. But the hip hang-outs-- Peter, the restaurant and its bar-- are real show-stoppers. Accessed from the lobby by discreet private elevator, Peter is perched on the 24th floor, offering awe-inspiring views through floor-to-ceiling windows. The designer restaurant features "intriguing interactive entertainment technology that gives a feeling of being on stage against a moving backdrop." Just adjacent, Peter: The Bar is just as cool. Dig into creative comfort food while quaffing signature cocktails or premium Champagnes. The bar offers tempting daily specials, to boot. During weekday happy hour from 5-8 pm, you can enjoy select drinks and snacks priced at JPY 700. Also on tap: "A Taste of the New World." Served daily from 5-8 pm, this promotion means unlimited New World white and red wines, bar snacks, including a choice of appetizer for JPY 3,800 per person. Last but not least: "Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles," available daily from 7-9 pm, serves unlimited Veuve Pelletier Champagne and bar snacks, including a choice of appetizer for JPY 7,800 per person.
