The Savoy, London’s Famous Hotel, Opens This Summer After GBP 100 Million Renovation

We've been keeping our eyes on the massive renovation of The Savoy, London's iconic hotel, since it began at the end of 2007. At GBP 100 million, this isn't a small makeover. In fact, to quote The Times of London, this is "the most expensive restoration in British hotel history." Here's the skinny from the venerable paper:

After an 18-month, £100m refit (with design dazzle supplied by Pierre-Yves Rochon, the brains behind the George V, in Paris), it will emerge in the summer to give Claridge's and the Dorchester a run for their money.

The Savoy is now managed by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
