More Press Love for Hyatt’s Andaz Brand

NPR recently did a story on hot new boutique hotel brands, the "growing trend of so-called contemporary lifestyle hotels." On the list? Hyatt's trendy Andaz brand, where dedicated Andaz Hosts-- presiding over the reception area and Andaz Lounge-- tend to guests' needs and connect them to neighborhood happenings. The first hotel for the brand was the Andaz Liverpool Street in London (pictured), which opened in November 2007, paving the way for Andaz by showcasing the new brand's innovative style of hospitality and local perspective. Formerly the Great Eastern Hotel, the 267-room property reflects its London setting with various cultural activities, including the Silent Cinema (where guests wear wireless headphones to watch the movie while sipping cocktails from the bar), iPod playlists from locals available in the lobby, and bespoke monthly East End Contemporary Art Tours. Perks at the Andaz Liverpool Street: Guest rooms include free Internet, healthy mini-bar items, and local telephone calls.
