Four Seasons Resort Hualalai Named “Best Hotel for Staying Fit” by Shape Magazine

February 4, 2011| By:Mary Winston Nicklin

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Kona, HawaiiIt could be the setting-- a natural tropical paradise set on the Big Island’s exclusive Kona-Kohala Coast. When the climate is that perfect, it's easy to get outside and stay fit. Indeed, the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka‘ūpūlehu has plenty to keep you busy on the white sand, black lava and lush green vegetation of Hawaiis biggest island. There's rock climbing, snorkeling, hiking, tennis, paddling outrigger canoes, surfing and scuba diving.

But the resort goes beyond that. The Four Seasons Hualalai has a kick-ass spa and sports club that's recognized by fitness experts. It's made up of three separate gyms of 1,300 square feet each, outfitted with state-of-the-art fitness equipment. Think spinning bicycles, ellipticals, adaptive motion trainers, rowers, and more. The Sports Club also offers a wide range of fitness classes such as Core Blast, Dance Pit, Pilates, Spin Zone, Sports Pump, Water Aerobics and Yoga. Did we mention the basketball court and rock climbing wall? It's little wonder that the Four Seasons-- the first and only AAA Five-Diamond and Forbes Five-Star resort on Hawaii's Big Island-- was recently named "Best Hotel For Staying Fit" by Shape Magazine in the 5th annual Healthy Travel Awards (February 2011 issue).
