The Grand Hotel Stockholm has debuted a sparkling new spa-- called "the most extravagant in Stockholm" by Conde Nast Traveller UK-- created in partnership with spa consultancy Raison d'Etre. Ever since the hotel's opening in 1874 in a picture-perfect setting in the center of Stockholm, the Grand Hotel has played host to the international jetset and big personalities. The hotel continues to dazzle with its fine dining restaurant Matsalen (just awarded two Michelin stars) and exclusive new spa, inspired by local nature and heritage and using only organic ingredients. Cleverly, the inspiration is thoroughly Nordic, with a philosophy rooted in Yggdrasil (the holy tree of Norse mythology that drinks from the well of wisdom) and treatments that feature local ingredients like blueberry, buckthorn and lingonberry.
