Excellent

Excellent accommodation. Awesome rooms and service in a great location.

Under Canvas Mount Rushmore is tucked within Ponderosa Pines and Common Juniper, located on an original gold mining settlement less than 4 miles from Mount Rushmore National Monument. Offering upscale accommodations and majestic views of Mount Rushmore and the surrounding Black Hills, Under Canvas is a one-of-a-kind home base for those seeking to explore Custer State Park and the Black Hills of South Dakota. Explore the beauty of the Black Hills of South Dakota with a stay at Under Canvas Mount Rushmore. Enjoy safari-inspired tents under starry skies complete with ensuite bathrooms, king-size beds with plush linens, wood-burning stoves and more.

In order to provide an experience that allows guests to disconnect and feel truly immersed in nature, and to minimize the use of precious resources, there is no electricity or outlets in the tents. However, there are battery-powered fans and lanterns with USB plugs so you can charge at least two cell phones. If you need a powered battery for a CPAP or medical device, just let us know in advance of your stay so that we can request one.

There are nine (9) different options of tent. The in-tent bathrooms are designed with Under Canvas’ Mindful Approach in mind. They are fully equipped with pull-chain showers with limited hot water, faucets that automatically shut off, low-flow flush toilets, and refreshing E.O. bath products.

Wifi is intentionally NOT offered to guests, so that they can disconnect from technology and reconnect with others.
