Karen Blixen Camp
Along the Mara River, Karen Blixen Camp is an eco-friendly luxury camp. Consisting of large luxury canvas tents with privacy and undisturbed views along the river, the property offers a stylish restaurant, lounge, bar, and gift shop, all set on a raised wooden deck with accurate reproductions of Karen Blixen’s private furniture to fit with the atmosphere.
The 22 luxury tents have large beds, Persian rugs, and armchairs for the ultimate in camping luxury. Tents can be configured for double or twin occupancy, and the family unit consists of two tents with a shared verandah. Each en-suite private bathroom has a flush toilet, twin wash hand basins, and outside showers with views of the sky. In an effort to conserve the Mara Woodlands, the water is heated using solar panels electricity is provided in all tents via an extended solar panel system and battery storing banks.
All tents are set along the Mara River with undisturbed views, giving guests the opportunity to view the Oloololo Escarpment and its rich wildlife.
Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are served in the restaurant or bush gardens. The chef-created cuisine incorporates international homemade cookery and gastronomic trends, with local meats, fruits, and produce. Romantic bush dinners can also be arranged for guests to dine under the starlit African night.
The camp offers a range of wellness treatments and therapeutic massages incorporating African oils. Therapists are trained in centuries-old African Kukanda massage traditions, and treatments are performed on the privacy of guests’ own outdoor verandahs.

Reservations must be made through Five Star Alliance under the “5 Star Signature Package." A camp walk and Sundowner is provided, once per guest, per stay. Location Summary
Karen Blixen Camp is located in the Masai Mara, along the Mara River. The property is located about 5 hours from Nairobi Town.
Directions to Hotel
By car from Nairobi Town (about 5 hours): After the escarpment turn left in Mai Mahiu and follow the B3 for 115.5km. Turn left onto the c13, follow c13 for about 83.5km. Just outside Narok follow the main road and do not turn left to the Sekanani region of Masai Mara, the road heads towards Ololunga and Mulot. Past the Ololunga turn off but before Mulot (at the 32 Km. point from Narok) there is a turning on the left, with Fairmont Mara Safari Club & Livingstone signs. Take this turn-off and wave goodbye to the tarmac. Stay on this long and fairly bumpy road which winds through the wheat fields and eventually hills. There is only one turning on the left in a small settlement called Ngorongore, there are again signs for Karen Blixen Camp, Fairmont Safari Club and Livingstone. Follow the road passing through the small town of Lemek and as you emerge from the hills you will see a large radio mast on top of Aitong hill. Stay on the road and do not take the turning on the right to Fairmont Safari Club. Look out for the Karen Blixen Camp sign post. Continue past the small hill on the left with a number of Euphorbia trees on it and past the David Livingstone junction. You will see a small sign on your left that reads: "maasai mara - topi trackers campsite". Drive straight on the main road, just before Mara Rianda Trading centre you will see a sign post on your right showing you the final 5 kms stretch to Karen Blixen Camp. This is a well defined graded road.
