The Strand Yangon

Set within a restored Victorian mansion, The Strand Yangon was built in 1901 on the banks of the Yangon River when the country was ruled by the British. Known around the world as one of Asia's finest hotels, the property has hosted notable guests including Prince Edward, George Orwell, and Noël Coward. Declared "the finest hostelry East of Suez" by John Murray in his Handbook for Travellers written in the early 20th century, the luxury hotel completed a massive renovation in 2016. Today the white-washed hotel transports guests to a bygone era with a jasmine-perfumed lobby featuring soaring ceilings and cane furniture.

The property's 31 reimagined guest suites have polished teak floors, high-pitched ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
