San Clemente Island lies in the Venetian Lagoon, just 10 minutes away from Piazza San Marco by boat. San Clemente is part of the Venetian islands which are one of the world’s most intriguing destinations. The island of 6 hectares offers heavenly gardens with Linden, Cypress, Elm and nettle trees. It is an escape from the city center and your perfect portal to discover Venice. San Clemente was founded in 1131 with the purpose of encouraging “the recovery of the soul and spirit”. This enchanting private retreat still has the original beautiful monastery on premises that has been restored.

The pier overlooks St. Mark’s Basin and is located just in front of the Royal Gardens and the Marciana Library.
Note Bene
The San Clemente Palace along with its lovely and precious church, built in 1131, and courtyards are the only constructions on the island. The San Clemente Island with its 4 acres centuries-old park is a natural oasis of peace.
