Hotel Diplomat Stockholm

Overlooking the Nybroviken with panoramic city views, the Hotel Diplomat is a privately-owned luxury hotel in the heart of the city. Commissioned by King Oscar II, the building was originally built as a private residence in 1911. After serving as reception rooms for foreign embassies, the property was transformed into a luxury hotel in the 1960s. Throughout the property, guests can discover the hotel’s extensive collection of art by famous Swedish artists.

The hotel's 130 guest rooms and suites feature timeless Art Nouveau style infused with Scandinavian design and art. Accommodations have Dux beds with exclusive cotton sateen sheets from the Diplomat Collection, flat-screen TVs, and minibars with beverages and healthy snacks. There are work desks and sitting areas, plus tiled bathrooms with showers (some with baths), plush robes, and luxurious body care amenities.

The hotel's restaurant offers a gastronomic experience blending Scandinavian cuisine with Mediterranean influences in a timeless setting with marble, brass, glass, and velvet. Offering scenic water views, the menu focuses on local seasonal ingredients and organic produce. There's also a popular afternoon tea which features the hotel's own blend of tea, as well as the healthy “Afternoon Tea-Tox”. The bar features a DJ Wednesday to Saturday, and during the summer months guests can dine outside.

The Hotel Diplomat's Retreat is a place of tranquility and relaxation with a sauna, showers, loungers, and a minibar. Guests have access to this exclusive retreat, which can be reserved for one hour per day. In addition, massages, beauty treatments, makeup, nail, and styling services can be booked in advance. There's also a fully-equipped fitness center with Life Fitness equipment.

The hotel's exclusive DryBar is run by award-winning hairstylist Antonio Axu, offering hairstyling and blowdrying on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Hotel Diplomat Stockholm supports the World Childhood Foundation, founded by H.M. Queen Silvia in 1999. The foundation works to prevent the abuse and exploitation of children. In support of the foundation, the hotel offers Charity Dishes on the menu, and guests can make donations at checkout.
