Overlooking Sabi Sand Game Reserve and Kruger National Park, on the banks of Mabrak River, Ulusaba offers accommodations in the Rock Lodge as well as the Safari Lodge. The Safari Lodge is built along the banks of the dry Mabrak riverbed. Guests will love the sense of adventure as they cross the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” style swing bridges between exquisite tree house rooms, created and inspired by local and natural materials, with elephants, bushbucks, lions and other local wildlife passing by. Safari Lodge can accommodate 20 guests in its 10 rooms.

The separate property located to Ulusaba, The Rock Lodge, is on the summit of a koppie set against the backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountain range far in the distance. Each room has been designed with the colors of a different African tribe or region. Rock Lodge includes Ulusaba’s newest addition, Cliff Lodge, and can accommodate a total of 20-25 guests in its 10 rooms.

Safari Lodge fits snugly into the bush located beneath a canopy of ancient trees on the edge of a dry riverbed. You’ll love the sense of adventure as you access some of the rooms by swing bridges. Your room will provide fascinating views of the animals as they stroll past on their way to the nearby watering hole. The rooms at Safari Lodge include a Treehouse Suite overlooking the nearby Xikwenga Dam while other rooms have their own private plunge pools. Kids aged 12 and over are welcome to stay at Safari Lodge.

The treehouse viewing deck overlooking the Xikwenga Dam is a great place to get even further into the bush to see where the hippos and elephants come to bathe.

Stargazing: Far away from all of the light pollution you get in most cities and towns, a visit to Ulusaba is a great chance to gaze at the night sky. Our Bush Observatory may be out of action at the moment, but we still encourage you to look up at night - you won't be disappointed!
