Inspired by 1950s modernism and the breathtaking backdrop of Camelback Mountain, Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale debuted April 1, 2017. The resort’s luxury wing with 42 resort residences and suites debuted in March 2018, finalizing the completion of the resort. Mountain Shadows features desert modern design, 183 guestrooms, a restaurant with an exhibition kitchen, two pools, a high- tech fitness facility, a fully revamped short course with a golf grill and lounge, an art gallery, and 37,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.

Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale features 183 modern guestrooms including a Presidential Suite facing Camelback Mountain. Each room is a personal retreat where guests can rest and re-energize amidst the best of mid-century modernism and contemporary design combined to create spaces that feel open and luxurious. Enjoy plush bedding, custom furnishings and a cocktail cart with inspired recipes. Most guestrooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass for abundant natural light and private patios or balconies perfect for enjoying the stunning desert scenery. The stunning Immerse Guestrooms boast a freestanding bathtub looking out at iconic Camelback Mountain.

The resort features a three-story wing of 42 luxurious resort residences and suites.

Led by notable Executive Chef Charles Wiley, Hearth ’61 honors the year the town was incorporated and the hearth oven that imparts smoky flavor to many signature dishes. The restaurant features an exhibition kitchen and floor-to-ceiling glass looking out to the scenic patio where guests can enjoy seasonal ingredient-driven American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. Dishes incorporate local and organic ingredients and flavors from Two Wash Ranch, McClendon's Select, Duncan's Trading Company, Sweet Republic, Niman Ranch and many more. A bar and sunken living room lounge offer additional spaces to gather and imbibe throughout the day.

The Citizens Club is the place to socialize and refocus your mental and physical health. Enjoy the serene landscape of Paradise Valley while relaxing at one of two 75-foot swimming pools with Camelback and Mummy mountains as the backdrop. Savor health-conscious poolside fare and refreshing cocktails while an array of 60- minute classes like aerial yoga, Pilates, TRX and more are available at the fitness center along with the latest workout equipment. Guided hikes are available for those wanting to admire panoramic views of the Valley of the Sun.

The Short Course offers a fun and relatively quick play with 18 par-3 holes. The fully revamped course is designed to be challenging to experienced golfers yet with options for novice players. Rusty’s patio and lounge is the ideal place to meet up after a round on the course, with golf goods available at the pro shop.

Mountain Shadows first opened in 1959, with the golf course following in 1961. It was an immediate icon of the Valley, prior to the town of Paradise Valley becoming incorporated in 1961. After many successful years and then a decade of vacancy, the property was demolished in 2014. Westroc Hospitality and Woodbine Development then had the opportunity to spearhead the redevelopment of the site. The $100 million resort, now managed by Benchmark Resorts & Hotels, is brand-new, completely rebuilt from the ground up. The original golf course has been fully revamped by golf course architect Forrest Richardson.

The resort’s 15,000 square feet of indoor meeting space is complemented by 25,000 square feet of outdoor meeting space. The 4,300-square-foot Paradise Ballroom opens onto a 3,350-square-foot terrace overlooking Camelback Mountain, while the highlight of outdoor venues is the 4,000-square-foot Camelback Overlook rooftop deck with striking mountain views. Mountain Shadows is ideally situated between Camelback and Mummy mountains and surrounded by brilliant Southwest flora. The gorgeous grounds, stunning venues, superb catering options and luxurious amenities create an unmatched wedding and event experience. Meeting room technology includes 75-inch televisions, roll-down projection screens, plug-in house sound, Wi-Fi and iPad reader boards.
