Once the home of the New Orleans Public Service, Inc., the NOPSI Hotel was transformed into a luxury boutique hotel in 2017. Situated in the heart of the Central Business District, the hotel is set within a nine-story brick building that opened in 1927 at the corner of Baronne and Union Streets.
Following a meticulous restoration, the property has 76 suites, including four rooftop Spa Suites, and 141 guest rooms. Featuring modern decor infused with historic-inspired details, accommodations have plush beds, docking stations, coffee and tea-making facilities, minibars, and refrigerators. Deluxe Suites have a residential feel with separate living room parlors with large flat-screen TVs, sofas, and lounge chairs, while Spa Suites have large terraces with city views.
Inspired by the hotel's location along the Gulf Coast, the property's restaurants feature ever-changing menus that showcase local seafood. The Public Service Restaurant pays tribute to the areas fishermen and farmers with chef-prepared contemporary cuisine prepared in an open-display kitchen highlighted by a modern raw bar and open-flame rotisserie. Undercurrent has iconic vaulted ceilings, all-day dining, hand-crafted cocktails, and an outdoor patio. While Above the Grid is an open-air poolside lounge with healthy cuisine during the day that transforms into a high-energy bar in the evenings.
Within the hotel there is a rooftop pool, plus 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space featuring culturally significant architecture.
