The Savute Elephant Camp is in the Southern area of the Chobe National Park and is one of 3 unique Belmond Safaris in Botswana. The other two are Eagle Island Lodge on a private island encircled by some of the deepest stretches of the Okavango Delta and Khwai River Lodge is nestled on the edge of a forest overlooking the vast floodplains of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve.

The expansive private decks are furnished with a huge daybed as well as two comfortable armchairs and a side table - perfect for viewing wildlife, an afternoon nap or for enjoying a dinner in complete privacy. The interiors are luxuriously appointed with en suite bathrooms and a large outdoor shower, in commune with nature. The four-poster bed as well as a lounging sofa, are outward facing with uninterrupted views onto passing wildlife.Guests are able to enjoy the best of being in the middle of a true wilderness environment, in a lodge designed with exemplary eco-friendly and sustainable practices in mind, and still enjoying the finer luxuries in life such as eco-friendly air-conditioning in the tented rooms. Encapsulating its heritage and surroundings, the design features includes chandeliers inspired by the local Botswana clay pots, others by the intriguing local pods and plants. The traditional walking sticks of the San inspired the bedposts and the huge daybed on the private outdoor deck was created with African carved head rests in mind.
