Excellent wellness hotel. Good for sightseeing and close to the city center. Awesome vibe. Fantastic service.
Originally built by orders of the Dutch in 1787, the Tivoli Palácio de Seteais is magnificent example of XVIII century architecture. Set on the mountainside of Sintra, the palace's iconic neoclassical façade and Triumphal Arch were added in 1802, and the property opened as a hotel in 1953. Fully restored in partnership with Fundação Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva in 2009, the guest rooms and ballrooms feature murals, frescoes, tapestries, and furniture restored by skilled local artisans. Surrounded by traditional gardens and mazes, the property has the Setais Restaurant with upscale Portuguese cuisine, outdoor pool, and panoramic views of the Sintra Mountains, Moorish Castle, and Pena Palace.
The hotel’s 29 rooms are set within two palace wings. Featuring rich and opulent decor, inspired by the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as the elegance of the palace, accommodations have magnificent paintings, frescoes, luxe carpets and Dona Maria style furniture. Finished with modern amenities, accommodations include wood-framed TVs, safes, Nespresso coffee machines, soaking tubs, and Tivoli Collection toiletries.
The Setais Restaurant serves chef-prepared Portuguese and international cuisine in a luxe and unforgettable environment filled with paintings, rich fabrics, and frescoes, along with views of the gardens and mountains. The bar has an outdoor terrace, ideal for enjoying a cocktail and the view of Sintra in the distance.
The palace has an outdoor pool, surrounded by a sundeck for lounging. There's also two tennis courts on-site, and bicycles are available for exploring the area.
