Location Summary
The Andaman, a Luxury Collection Resort located in an idyllic tropical setting on Malaysia's Langkawi Island, is cozily tucked away between a 10 million year old rainforest and the tranquil Datai Bay and an 8,000 year old fringing coral reef. The resort has created a Coral Nursery, believed to be the first of its kind in South East Asia, with accolades in recognition of its commitment to environmental practices. In addition, Datai Bay is recognized as the 9th best beach in the world by National Geographic.
Directions to Hotel
From Langkawi International Airport (LGK) (Approximately 35 minutes): After exiting the airport, turn left onto Airport Road. At the T-junction, turn right onto Jalan Kuala Muda. Continue across a distinctively designed bridge until you reach another T-junction. Turn right onto Jalan Kuala Teriang. Continue approximately 1km. After driving through a local primary school and Malay village, turn left onto Jalan Pantai Kok at the traffic light. Follow for 5.5 km along this winding road, and you will see a petrol station on your left hand side. Turn right at the next T-junction onto Jalan Teluk Yu and follow for 3.4km. Signboards at the next junction signal a left turn onto Jalan Teluk Datai, and you will notice our resort Signature Restaurant “Jala” signboard and Els Club Teluk Datai signboard on the road side as well. Follow this road for approximately 12.6km. Once passed The Els Club Teluk Datai golf course drive for another 1.3km. Turn left at the next junction. Follow this road until you see the resort signboard on your right hand side and turn right into the hotel. From the Jetty (Approximately 40 minutes): Proceed west onto Jalan Ayer Hangat. Turn onto Jalan Teluk Yu. Turn right onto Jalan Datai. Continue approximately 12.6km to the hotel Once passed The Els Club Teluk Datai golf course drive for another 1.3km Turn left at the next T-junction. Follow this road until you see the resort signboard on your right hand side and turn right into the hotel.

Ecological Tourism
In December 2010, The Andaman embarked on a Coral Conservation project after discovering a 8,000 year old coral reef in its shores that was badly damaged by the 2004 Tsunami. Since then, the resort conducts monthly Coral Clearing activities and takes guests on educational Coral Walks to learn about this fragile ecosystem. Believed to be the first in Langkawi and South East Asia, The Andaman has build a Coral Nursery in efforts to rescue and rehabilitate Corals.
