Lajitas, The Ultimate Hideout is a 25,000-acre private estate nestled between Big Bend National Park and Big Bend State Park. A mixed-use development, the property includes a 92-room resort, private club, and real estate division. Among the outstanding amenities at The Ultimate Hideout are the Ambush Golf Course, Agavita Spa, Lajitas Tennis Center, Hunt Club and Lodge, Equestrian Center, Red Rock Outfitters, and several restaurants including the gourmet Ocotillo. * * * Imagine a place where the Comanche Indians once roamed, Pancho Villa led raids across the Rio Grande, cowboys sat around an open campfire, and miners drank whisky at the Trading Post; all among dramatic Chisos mountain vistas and the borderland majesty of the Rio Grande River. Tucked away in West Texas between Big Bend National Park and Big Bend State Park lies this exquisite, 25,000-acre private estate where a cast of infamous characters made history and the Old West Lajitas map inspires the rugged luxury of Texas' first destination resort. As Architectural Digest claims, Lajitas "has been transformed into a luxury destination whose guests can enjoy ... the same breath taking scenery that persuaded Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1935 to sign Public Law 157, authorizing the creation of Big Bend National Park." Seventy-two rooms located throughout four very unique hotels offer guests the opportunity to choose from a range of different styles - from the cowboy chic of the Cavalry Post to the elegance of Officers' Quarters junior suites. Each room is complete with a plush robe and slippers, coffee maker, satellite television, a refrigerator, and lavish Agave amenities - created specially for Lajitas. Gourmet cuisine at the Ultimate Hideout is as distinctive as the Big Bend setting - a blend of West Texas wild game and ingredients with a south-of-the-border flair. Each of our four eateries takes a different approach, so the cuisine is delightfully varied. The fine-dining Ocotillo Restaurant offers the Cowboy Cuisine of renowned Chef Jeff Blank in an elegant setting, while Southwestern dining with golf course views defines the Candelilla Cafe. The Thirsty Goat Saloon and the Trading Post Cafe are casual eateries catering to those who are on the go at Lajitas or desire less formal dining.

Banquets & Meetings
Lajitas is designed with the Corporate Retreat, Group Meeting, Incentive Trip or memorable Wedding in mind. With over 6000 square feet of meeting space, the resort creates opportunities and ample accommodations for any type of program. The venue space is all naturally lit, with windows and is distinctively decorated to stimulate the mind and the body.
Spa Facility
The essence of the native Agave plant is said to promote inner self, beauty, and strength which is manifest in the flower of the plant - a tight rosette spiraling from a the nutrient-rich heart. Agavita Spa is designed to offer you the nourishing benefits of this unique desert plant. Aromatic and healing elements of the Chihuahuan Desert are the foundation for our treatments - from specialty massage and skin treatments to hydrating facials and luxuriant manicures and pedicures. Designed to nourish both your body and soul, most treatments include native extracts including Agave, Rio Grande mud, and stones from the Big Bend area. With three massage rooms, a facial room, and salon, the Agavita offers a wide range of treatments in an intimate and soothing atmosphere.
Golfing
This championship, 18-hole golf course is every bit as unique as Lajitas itself. The Ambush plays to 7,042 yards from the back tees and features four holes on an island in the Rio Grande. The difficulty of this Bechtol Russell course is deceiving as it increases in difficulty from hole to hole. International golf has new meaning with Hole 11 - a par one in Mexico. For a lucky few, an international hole-in-one is not only a challenging feat but a great story to tell back home. Adjacent to the Ambush Clubhouse are the driving range and practice greens where ProV1 practice balls are the Ambush standard. Our professional staff is available for assistance and lessons upon request.
