Location Summary
Elounda is a collection of three villages, Ano (upper) and Kato (lower) Elounda sitting above the port, Skisma, nestled at the head of the bay of Elounda with a view of the beautiful Venetian castle on the island of Kalydon, the famous “Spinalonga”. Since ancient times, this island was site to a fortress that protected the port of Olous from marauding pirates, while in the 20th century it was used for the exile of patients suffering from Hansen’s disease (leprosy). Nowadays, it is a remarkable site where little boats will take you to throughout the season. Opposite the island is Plaka, a fishing village with traditional seaside homes and openings that play stage every summer to the “Plakiana” traditional music festival, and whose tavernas serve the freshest fish throughout the year.
Directions to Hotel
Iraklion International Airport is served several times a day by 40 min. flights from Athens. There also are direct charter flights from major European cities. There is a daily ferry-boat service from Piraeus to Iraklion and to Aghios Nikolaos. In high season, ferry-boat service from Ancona to Iraklion and from Thessaloniki to Iraklion as well as other Cyclades and Dodekanese islands.

The Aegean Conference Centre at Porto Elounda Golf and Spa Resort was completed in 2008 according to cutting-edge specifications and incorporating years of experience in functional design and facilities. Extending over 1500m2 of indoor spaces with the additional benefit of another 300m2 of covered outdoor verandas, it comprises five multi-purpose halls of various sizes, which can all be joined and separated as needed, while enjoying an incomparable view to the resort's golf course and the sea.

During summer, Mediterranean and Cretan a la carte dining is available in the olive grove "Elies" restaurant, while lunch is served at "Odysseus" tavern, right on the water's edge, with a selection of fresh seafood and Greek dishes. The Kirki bar, offering delightful views across the bay, is the perfect place for aperitifs and cocktails, accompanied by piano music in the evening, whereas at the Beach Bar drinks and snacks are served throughout the day.
