Zero George is Charleston's premiere boutique hotel, with a carefully defined product, designed to appeal to sophisticated travelers for business as well as leisure. Circa 1804, the eighteen studios and suites are located in a landscaped enclave surrounded by three Charleston residences and two brick carriage houses. All guestrooms feature original architectural elements including heart pine floors, high ceilings, period millwork details, and classic piazzas.
Guests are greeted upon arrival in the heart of the house, the original kitchen carriage house on the courtyard. This 1805 Carriage House has been transformed into the guest reception for the concierge desk, adjacent to the custom designed professional show kitchen, with a signature French enamel cooking range. Juxtaposing Charleston's period architecture, the hotel's decor is southern sophistication with a contemporary twist – reminiscent of a spacious, well appointed and comfortably furnished private home. The residences' private piazzas are furnished with wicker and wrought iron furnishings, allowing guests to casually lounge or breakfast while overlooking the Garden Courtyard.
Authentic cuisine is one of the hotel's passions. Breakfast and evening light fare are offered in the courtyard, open-air piazzas, and Zero Cafe + Bar. The culinary team can create inspired and memorable private events for up to 75 guests. Stunning formal architecture with eclectic furnishings await guests in the original Palladian Drawing and East Bay Dining Rooms while the main piazza bar is designed as a gathering place for the hotel, featuring intimate seating areas, lazily spinning ceiling fans and the Charleston sea breeze. The Zero George Cooking School offers guests an opportunity to create a range of traditional and contemporary dishes with Chef Randy Williams.
