Excellent wellness hotel. Great room.
Nestled at the foot of the Klein Dassenberg mountain range, Mont Rochelle Hotel and Vineyard is a luxury hotel providing a superb culinary experience and outstanding wines. Set in the Western Cape Province, the property is in a traditional vineyard town within the French Corner of the Cape, in what is revered as the food and wine capital of South Africa.
Offering 22 room and six suites, all accommodations are arranged around the main building. There are five different types of rooms, including Shiraz Rooms with king beds and courtyard or valley views, as well as the six Cabernet rooms with private terraces overlooking the valley. The largest rooms are the two Cap Classique suites, each with their own private terrace and plunge pool. For families or guests seeking the ultimate in serenity, the Manor House is a four-bedroom available year-round. Within each of the rooms and suites there are Africology branded bathroom amenities, tea and coffee facilities, Nespresso machines, postcards with stamps, well-stocked inclusive minibars, flat-screen TVs, and Bose sound systems.
For dining, the hotel offers two restaurants. The flagship dining option, Miko has 180-degree views over the Franschhoek valley, with a terrace surrounded by glass doors for an al fresco dining experience all year. The cuisine is South African with a twist, where each dish tells a story. Casual dining is offered at the Country Kitchen, which is adjacent to the wine cellar. While the bar serves light bites, afternoon coffee, and pre or post-dinner drinks.
The hotel’s spa has two treatment rooms with an array of treatments and services featuring eco-friendly Africology products made from essential oils and natural plant extracts, as well as a hammam. Plus, there is an outdoor heated pool with views of the mountains and bar service.
Recreation options include the fully-equipped fitness center with strength training and cardio equipment. There's also bike rentals with a variety of routes to explore, and plenty of hiking options through the hills, valleys, and vineyards.
