Chateau de Mirambeau
Surrounded by a garden, Château de Mirambeau, is a Relais & Chateaux luxury hotel set within a Renaissance-style castle built on the site of an old medieval fortress. Situated on 20 acres of countryside greenery, between Bordeaux and Cognac, the property was transformed into an elegant hotel in 2002. The castle closed in 2015 for renovations, and reopened in 2016 with 18 additional guest rooms, revitalized spa, and improvements to the gardens, walkways, electronics, and media systems.
The hotel's ornate guest rooms and suites are furnished with lush upholstered chairs and headboards, elegant paintings, antique furniture, and marble bathrooms. Each room is unique, and all accommodations offer views of the park, countryside, or outdoor swimming pool.
The one starred Michelin restaurant serves gourmet French cuisine created by Chef Maxine Deschamps. Providing a noble setting with polished chandeliers, plush chairs, and classic French style, the menu features dishes infused with locally sourced ingredients. Guests can also dine in the Jardin d'hiver, and outdoor terrace during the summer months.
Completely redesigned, the 3,000-square-foot spa has two treatment rooms available for a variety of body facials and treatments. There's also an indoor pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and fitness center.
Please note: This property is open seasonally, typically from March to November.
