Singita Grumeti Sasakwa Lodge

Singita Sasakwa Lodge is one of five Singita lodges in the Singita Grumeti Reserves, an enormous private concession (350 000 acres), which means that you’ll have this wild stretch of Africa all to yourself. Sasakwa Lodge is built in the style of an Edwardian manor house. Stone walls, deep verandas, high ceilings, stately furniture, silverware and ornamental pieces complete the picture. Each cottage has a private infinity-edge pool overlooking where the land stretches to forever. The bedrooms with inviting four-posters are beautifully appointed, displaying typical African influences with touches of wood, leather and grass, alongside crisp linens, imported chandeliers and hand-crafted furniture.

Singita Grumeti, situated adjacent to the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, is an integral part of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, the home of the Great Migration. The reserve was created by the Tanzanian government in 1994 in order to protect the path of the annual wildebeest migration and the indigenous biodiversity of this vast and important ecosystem.

At any one time Sasakwa can accommodate a total of 34 guests. Each air-conditioned cottage features a bedroom, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, lounge with fireplace, dressing area, a guest toilet, veranda with a Swarovski spotting scope and a heated infinity plunge pool.

There are twice daily game drives with professional guides. Fun activities such as archery, lawn croquet, stargazing safaris, mountain biking and tennis are all available.

Sasakwa features ten luxurious cottages offering between one and four bedrooms. All cottages are en suite with bath, shower and dressing room. Each cottage has a guest toilet, private living room, verandah with Swarovski spotting scope, garden and heated infinity plunge pool. Each cottage features a personal bar and fridge, electronic safe, air-conditioning, overhead fan, hairdryer, dial direct telephone, wireless internet access, satellite television and DVD player, and fireplaces.

Hillside Suite at Singita Sasakwa Lodge is all about privacy and offers infinite views over the plains of the Serengeti. Set high on a secluded hillside away from the main lodge, this romantic hideaway for two ensures an authentic connection with nature, while every creature comfort is catered for. Featuring spacious interiors, two wooden outdoor decks, a private rimflow pool as well as a unique ‘bar-deli’ filled with delicacies, this is the ultimate retreat. Guests enjoy everything from private in-room dining to a private game vehicle, Field Guide and host/butler. The vast indoor and outdoor areas allow for wellness experiences enveloped by nature, including calming yoga practices to in-room spa treatments and soothing couples’ massages on the expansive decks.
