Once in a great while, the hotel becomes the destination. Two blocks from the French Quarter in the Historic Central Business District in one of the world's most eclectic cities, is a hotel like no other. International House is a stylish, hip boutique hotel that captures the essence of New Orleans today. With a contemporary style and spiritual warmth, International House remains deeply rooted in the culture and history of New Orleans. The hotel proudly observes local customs; seven times each year the International House's captivating lobby is transformed in observance of important local rituals and traditions. Whether it is the RaRa festival in April, or a festival steeped in Voodoo lore, St. John's Eve, June 24, or Louis Armstrong's Birthday, July 14, guests can peer into these longstanding rituals. It is not uncommon to stumble upon a jazz funeral with its famed second-line or spontaneous parade of the Mardi Gras Indians. Alive with the energy of contemporary New Orleans, the hotel offers guests and locals alike a special experience. With its welcoming glow of amber light, the hotel's lobby is ever changing for summer and winter dress. International House is housed in a beaux arts building that is also home to the candlelit Loa bar and the hotel's celebrated Vietnamese restaurant, Lemongrass.

Five Star Alliance Client Reviews - International House
Aaron, New Orleans, LA. February, 2006
"The hotel was poorly staffed, but was able to find services in the city that I did not know still existed, i.e.. in-room massage therapist at 1am who now regularly comes to my house."

Note Bene
The trendy bar Loa (meaning "divine spirits" in voo-doo) offers a mesmerizing flicker of candles set on old paint plaster shelves, ecclesiastically inspired mirrors, and sumptuously upholstered sofas. Reflecting off the Gothic church mirrors that grace the walls, the candlelight is at once hypnotic and soothing.
Banquets & Meetings
The hotel has conference facilities, including a 1,500 square foot room that can be divided in two with soundproof air-walls. It also has two smaller boardrooms. Also, just steps away from International House in New Orleans's central business district is their state of the art conference center. Designed by the same team that created the stylish hotel, the Conference Center unites acclaimed furniture designs with New Orleans' finest architecture, remarkable wireless networking and refined Italian lighting systems. It occupies a beautiful 100 year old building, its elegant space featuring high ceilings, exposed beams and towering windows. The Center has several conference rooms and a soaring atrium space. The second floor has two large rooms, one with 2,000 square feet, and the other 2,480 square feet. The third floor contains multiple break-out rooms.
Fine Dining on Site
Run by celebrated local chef, Minh Bui, Lemon Grass has emerged as one of New Orleans' best restaurants. Bui offers the freshest local ingredients meticulously prepared and presented with his distinctive contemporary French/Vietnamese influences. The restaurant was recently featured in Travel and Leisure and offers an exceptional dining experience at International House. Lemon Grass's Kitchen, under chef Minh Bui and chef de cuisine Cynthia Vu tran, produces a menu blending traditional Vietnamese ingredients with classic French technique and a bounty of foodstuffs from the rich waters and soil of South Louisiana. Homestyle magazine best described the food of Lemon Grass when they stated: "It's light and healthful, robust and zesty, full of big bold flavors, and is beautiful to serve."
