QUESTION: We are a family looking for connecting rooms at the Hotel Gritti Palace Venice, Italy. What would you suggest?

ANSWER: Many room and most suites can be connected at Hotel Gritti Palace. We suggest a Giglio Prestige Room connected to another Giglio Prestige Room. Please make your request as early as possible, to ensure availability.

The Gritti Palace re-opened in early 2013 after an extensive handcrafted restoration. Directly overlooking the Grand Canal, with an incomparable view of Venice, the Palace of the Doge Gritti is now one of the most celebrated hotels in the world. Commissioned in 1525 as the residence of the Doge of Venice, Andrea Gritti, the Gritti Palace was later used as the official residence of the Vatican's ambassadors to Venice. The Hotel Gritti Palace continues to attract elite guests, with luxuriously appointed rooms, attentive service, and the savoury cuisine of the Restaurant Club del Doge. Ernest Hemingway once appreciated the hotel "as the best hotel in a city of great hotels."

Giglio Prestige Rooms offer a south-west location rich in natural light. It offers captivating views of neighboring Santa Maria del Giglio Square and its neo-classical church of the same name. Spacious and luminous Giglio Prestige Rooms are a private haven in which to relax, play, or socialize. Decorated with splendid stuccos and hand-restored Murano glass chandeliers, the room's ceilings sit high over large windows enclosed by silk and velvet drapes and wall fabrics of Lorenzo Rubelli archival design. Oak parquet floors showcase a collection of rare antiques, prints, and oil paintings, and Venetian mirrors from the hotel's private collection. Large en-suite bathrooms in the finest polished marble from Italy and Croatia feature dual vanities, a bath for soaking and separate walk-in shower, plush bathrobes, and signature bath amenities.

All rates are based on double occupancy and extra person charges may apply. Please be advised that the rates, availability, as well as any extra person charges are subject to change depending on the hotel’s policies.
