Norfolk VA Offers Several Festivals in the Upcoming MonthsNorfolk, VA has more than just a naval base. The city, which has miles of riverfront and bayfront property, offers hundreds of events and festivals from April through to the fall-- many of which are free and open to the public. This year marks the grand opening of Town Point Park, which will have a new pathway system, interactive water fountains and manicured landscape. During a three-day celebration, held July 3-5, the new park will be unveiled. Festivities during that time include Harborfest, Hampton Roads' largest summertime event, featuring 700 international ships, sailboats, battleships, cruise ships, local and regional entertainment and activities for kids. A July 4 celebration will be held at the Norfolk waterfront. Audiences can also be dazzled by the Virginia International Tattoo, held May 1-3. This event, a ceremonial performance of military music by masked bands, is the second largest of its kind--the largest is in Scotland. For more information on events, visit www.norfolkcvb.com [Map]
