July 21, 2008| By:Mary Winston Nicklin

Park Hyatt Beaver CreekSo you wanna join the club of mountaineers obsessed with climbing 14ers? (Colorado is endowed with quite a few mountain peaks exceeding 14000 feet- that's 4267 meters.) The recently renovated Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Vail, Colorado, has created some "Hike Weeks" during three sets of dates this summer, so that guests can have the opportunity to tackle the summit of a "fourteener" with a professional guide. The four-night adventure package, available August 17-21, August 24-28 or September 7-11, 2008, is packed with hikes to challenge enthusiasts to progress to a higher level of fitness and reach a new altitude every day. The culmination of the adventure? Summiting the peak. The package also allows time for rejuvenation at Allegria Spa. Priced at $1,574 per person, based on double occupancy, the package includes four nights accommodations at "the most luxurious base camp in the world," a $225 spa credit good for two spa treatments at the Allegria Spa, a welcome bag including: LEKI hiking poles, Salomon backpack, Smartwool socks, ball cap and more, an arrival and a farewell dinner, daily breakfast and lunch (with water for hikes), professional hiking guides and transportation to hiking trails, all resort fees and valet parking. Salomon boots and all weather gear available.
